The deadly enemies of the sport

the following text by Berthold Brecht I here found on the Web.

Sport has two main enemies, he can be really dangerous.

First, there are people who want to make of him with all his might a hygienic movement.
This works sort of people with a preference under the motto that sport is healthy, and tries to in schools and also through the popular literature, what is at real sporting spirit among the younger people to ruin for all time. Of course, sports, namely real passionate sports, risky sport, not healthy. Where he really has nothing to do with combat, record and risk, he needs even extraordinary efforts of the practitioners of him, his health to some extent to keep the height. I do not believe that Lindbergh has extended his life by his ocean air for ten years. Boxes for the purpose of raising the stool is not a sport. The purpose of the sport is not, of course, physical exercise, but the purpose of physical education can be sports.

The second main opponents of the sport is the scientific fad.
subheading unfortunately mostly with special support from the press, "the frantic efforts of some" expert, to make the sport a kind of "art." These experts is now growing again at the bare hand a whole nomenclature of terms, and the trend is more and more of l'art pour l'art.

expressed in boxing, this sport hostile tendency in the propagation of the point process. The further the sport of boxing by knockout removed, the less he has with real Sport to do. A boxer who can not beat down his opponent, it does not, of course, defeated. Look deliver two men on a street corner or in a pub for a fight. How do you envision a point before this game? The main natural mortal enemies of the naive and popular sport of boxing, are those scholars who sit on the ropes and collect in their hats into points.

me understand: the "rational," "fine" and "socially acceptable" is the sport, and he now has a strong tendency, the worse it becomes.

P / PK Sport

In his book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective" (English title: "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People") describes the management consultant Stephen Covey various principles that are essential for effective action in professional and private life. A central principle is the P / PC balance.

P stands for the production of the desired results for the PK Produtionskapazität. As an example, Aesop's fable of Covey's golden goose. The plot in short form (no literary claims, please!): A farmer discovers that his goose can lay golden eggs. Through these golden eggs The farmer is very rich. Greedy become, he decides to kill the goose to her to immediately remove all the golden eggs. He finds out, however, that the goose is empty. She is useful only if it is alive. The farmer sets revealed a similar mindset as the bankers who are responsible for the financial crisis. Who defines only the value of P, ignoring PK will fail in the long term. The goose in the fable is, of course the factor that makes the PC. Without them, there are no long-term P.

The principle of the P / PC balance can be globally applied to life, but also specifically to the world of sport. P stands for the desired results, such as a particular rank in a karate competition, a certain Weight in the deadlift or the completion of a marathon. Who here is focused only on P will fail or achieve his goals but only at the cost of health damage. If you train only for the karate competition, not enough respect to physical regeneration and ignored signals that suggest a break or a different training approach, which is punished by joint problems and symptoms of overtraining. If you train only powerlifting, without supplementary exercises, joint mobility, etc., of the medium to long term, develop serious imbalances. Who runs only to create the marathon distance and no supplementary strength training makes that will be just as troubled by ankle injuries und sehr wahrscheinlich einen schlechten Laufstil entwickeln.

About Balance

Irgendwelche aspezifischen Exercises are not necessary in my opinion.

Actually I wanted to balance more in a "spiritual", "holistic" sense to write (I do not like these words, but I find no better alternatives). In zazen, it is as these (but also physical) balance. Also in the martial arts can they achieve in training. Brad Warner refers in his book a very good explanation of why we like to stay in places where it is loud or in which "action" is offered in some form, such as at rock concerts or a boxing match: Once it somewhere wild approaching, we are immediately "from the matter" be alert and no longer ständig mit unseren Gedanken beschäftigt.

Deshalb macht Sparring so viel Spaß. Man ist immer auf irgendeine Art von Lärm or motion dependent, and feels in everyday situations in outwardly calm not so balanced. Here comes the practice of zazen into play. It is more difficult to achieve balance by dahockt in the lotus position and staring at a wall. But the balance that you get here is much broader. In a sense, Zazen is to practice a lot harder than an MMA fighter to participate. As I said, in a sense. Although I practice zazen regularly, but would run away after the first hard results in a MMA fight and scream for my mom. There are just a lot to do ... .

Cosco Car Seatshow To Put B Ack Together

Hey coach, what should I do?

What I know, I'm not a coach. Worum geht´s hier eigentlich? Was können?

Aber ich habe das Gefühl, sie trotzdem äußern to have, because there have figured out some Honks still not there. Once there is the requirement for restriction. Through them I have in "Basics, Baby" babble enough. The one with the restriction must not go too far. While it makes sense to focus around the state struggle to a few basic techniques, you should not limit the extent that it omits one or more distances.

is often accused of MMA fighters, they wanted to be egg-laying Wollmilchsäue or, in Anglistik speaking world, "Jack of all trades". These are clearly negative, ironic names. For there is no panacea and Jack of all trades is also a master of none . At the versatility in terms of the different distances, such as drop distance, wrestling and ground fighting out, but unfortunately, no way. A golfer would be ill advised to practice only the putting strokes and distance to avoid from now on. It would indeed be a master putter, but not win a tournament, because he can not keep up in other important areas of the game with the other, more versatile athletes could. What is so obvious on the golf course view, in the martial arts is not a lot. I figure it's not ... .

Sure it is legitimate to focus only on the Muay Thai, if the goal is to participate in Muay Thai fighting is. And security is a Thai boxer who only carried the sport in a "real" fight a serious opponent. Still, he has a problem when it comes to a tussle, and the battle at the bottom end. He has the ground fighting, neither the balance, nor the technical ability, yet - and most importantly - the experience of the hours and hours of driving bring. As Matt Thornton once said: "A guy with no ground skills is not much of a fighter." Is true. The same is true of course vice versa.
